Ukainian Easter in Prague
Ukainian Easter in Prague = Pastva is celebrated in the different day than in Czech Republic, because it follows Julian calendar. Every year, it falls on different time. 7 weeks of fasting go before Pastva. Easter is the most important feast day for all Ukrainians. The word Pastva came from Greek language and means “Coming” or “Salvation”.
Every year there are thousands of religious in front of Greco-Catholic church in Prague.
People bring the hand-baskets with various goodies, eggs, sausages, savoury bread etc. and wait for the priests to sanctify them.
