IFLA 2009 in Milano

In August 2009 the project Untold Stories was participating in the IFLA Conference in Milan. IFLA stands for The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, and is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession.

At the conference a presentation about Untold Stories was given on Thuesday the. 27. of August in the session: Genealogy and Local History - Opening up our cultural heritage through digitization and collaboration.

Beside a powerpoint presentation also a paper was given.

Citizen Involvement

Community centres are centres where work is carried out across organisational and professional frameworks with a view to utilising both professional and financial resources. A community centre is a cross-sectorial counselling and learning centre, where as an example the library shares a location with other municipal services possibly combined with volunteer organisations, various associations and individual resource persons. Collectively, these services can help citizens in areas where the majority is socially excluded, including ethnic minorities, to manage better in society. Furthermore, community centres can contribute to enabling citizens to play a proactive role in local citizen management and democratic citizenship.

Aby jsme vám pomohli z vaším příběhem, vytvořili jsme detailní Cookbook (Příručka - Vyprávění digitálních příběhů za pomoci IT nástrojů) která vám poskytne praktické informace a provede vás celým procesem vytvoření digitálního příběhu. Příručka vám poskytne informace o konceptu vyprávění příběhu a také technické pokyny: jak vytvořit a editovat obrázky, zvuk, video, jak konvertovat videa do FlashVideo formátu. Použitý počítačové programy jsou PhotoStory 3, Audacity 1.2 a MovieMaker.
